Anastasia at JFK Center for Performing Arts, Now Through November 26
Over the last century, the story of Princess Anastasia has been a fixture in American literature, film, television, and even video games, and this month at the JFK Center for Performing Arts, you can add musical theater to that list. Anastasia the musical that premiered on Broadway in 2016, it’s showing nightly from now through November 26.
Loosely based on the animated film from the late 1990s, Anastasia features music by Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens (My Favorite Year, Ragtime, Seussical), and direction from Darko Tresnjak (Comedy of Errors, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern, The Killers). The show, which is appropriate for the whole family, follows the magic and romance of Anastasia’s young life as she flees from Russia into the dizzying scene of Paris in the 1920s. Tickets start at $59, and are available at the box office and online now.
